Samsung PRO Plus and EVO Plus Memory Cards

Samsung have launched two new memory card lineups, PRO Plus and EVO Plus. Available in 64GB and 32GB storage capacities, the PRO Plus microSD and SD cards are equipped to handle storing and transferring professional-grade photos and 4K UHD video content created from high-end DSLRs, smartphones, tablets and modern action cameras. With their higher read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 90 MB/s respectively, the PRO Plus SD cards and microSD cards satisfy both UHS-I Speed Class 3 (U3) and Class 10 performance levels. The new EVO Plus memory cards are also available in SD and microSD form factors, and have read and write speeds up to 80MB/s and 20MB/s respectively that provide UHS-I Speed Class 1 (U1) and Class 10 performance, boasting a much more advanced read performance compared to the existing EVO lineup.

Westcott Ice Light 2

JP Distribution has announced the UK launch of the Westcott Ice Light 2 LED light. The new Ice Light 2 is engineered with patented new LED technology offering 1,740 lumens of daylight-balanced light while maintaining a compact housing. Unlike traditional LED panels, the Ice Light has a built-in diffuser that is custom-designed to protect the LEDs and provide a 73° beam angle. Daylight-balanced at 5500K and rated for 50,000 hours with a Colour Rendering Index (CRI) of 96, the Ice Light 2 provides flicker-free output and stable light consistency. The redesigned handle offers a dedicated on/off power slider with an 18-step range and a light output memory which remembers your last power setting between uses. Battery indicator displays the current battery level using illuminated blue lights. Both ends of the Ice Light 2 include 1/4"-20 thread`s to mount to a light stand, tilter bracket or tripod. Adaptalux is an adaptable, miniature portable lighting studio designed for macro and product photography. CamDolly Cinema System

The CamDolly Cinema System is the industry’s first truly portable and modular dolly system for professional-grade video and film equipment. Currently seeking funds on Kickstarter, the CamDolly Cinema System is the product of a collaboration between filmmaker Mat Jaz, filmmaker Bohus Blahut of Clutch & Company and the design team at Fotodiox- The system includes everything a filmmaker needs to build five different dolly modes, or "protocols" – each designed to create a specific type of shot. The entire CamDolly Cinema System easily fits into a compact car and packs neatly into three luggage sized cases. A single person can move all of the system's components to a shooting location with ease, and assemble the CamDolly into one of its five protocols in under 15 minutes. If the Kickstarter campaign achieves its $100,000 goal, CamDolly production will begin immediately with the first shipment expected in mid-June.

Blackmagic Design has introduced a high-resolution electronic viewfinder specifically designed for the Blackmagic URSA and Blackmagic URSA Mini digital video cameras. Featuring a Full HD OLED display, the Blackmagic URSA Viewfinder has been designed to meet the needs of high-end cinematographers. The display has been matched with precision glass optics, has an adjustable dioptre and built-in digital focus chart. Blackmagic Design Announces New 4.6K Sensor

Blackmagic Design has announced a new high-performance 4.6K sensor for its URSA high-end digital video cameras. The new Super 35 image sensor features high resolution of 4608 x 2592 at 120 frames per second and 15 stops of dynamic range for images that rival those shot on many traditional motion picture film stocks. That means customers can now use URSA to get the most epic cinematic shots with more detail in the shadows and highlights than ever before. Videos are recorded as 12-bit lossless Cinema DNG raw files to preserve the maximum amount of image data and quality. The Blackmagic URSA 4.6K will be available in limited volumes from June, and increasing to full supply in July and August.
