The mission of The TuTu Project is to raise funds for women, men and their families to ease the financial burdens that come with breast cancer diagnosis. “A self-portrait enthusiast who had previously transformed himself in several series of artistic images, Bob started the TuTu project on their trip east when they moved to Brooklyn, NY. Initially it was a means of self-therapy to deal with the changes the move brought into his life. After surgery and starting chemo, we found that it was a great way to ease the stress and add levity to the craziness that had become our life”, states Linda. Thus the Tutu Project was born, with all proceeds from the prints and other products (t-shirts, postcards) going to the non-profit Carey Foundation. This allowed them to self-publish a book titled “Ballerina” which included many of Bob’s self-portraits taken on location around the United States with the help of PocketWizard Plus III radios.
