Tamron has announced pricing and availability for the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD wide zoom. Featuring an optical construction comprising 18 elements in 13 groups including an XGM (eXpanded Glass Molded Aspherical) element placed at the front group and several LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements used throughout the optical system, the Tamron SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC USD is billed as the world's first full-frame f/2.8 ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with image stabilisation. Tamron's acclaimed BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating is further refined to render uniformity in transmissivity across the critical bandwidths. Coupled with the eBAND coating, ghosting and flare typically observed on ultra-wideangle lenses are efficiently eliminated, resulting in crisper and crystal-clear images, the company claims. The lens will go on sale on 30th January, priced at $1199.

Kenko Tokina have posted a total of 32 high-resolution sample photos taken with the new Tokina AT-X PRO 11-20mm f/2.8 DX zoom lens. Shot with the Canon EOS 70D and the Nikon D7100 dSLR cameras, these samples depict a variety of subjects and span a number of genres from portraiture to landscapes to architectural photography.

Fuji have published seven full-resolution sample images captured with the just-announced Fujifilm X-A2 compact system camera and new Fujinon XC16-50mm II & Fujinon XC50-230mm lenses. Shot at sensitivity settings ranging from ISO 200 to ISO 800, these Fujifilm X-A2 samples span a variety of genres including wildlife, landscape, portraiture, street and architectural photography.

Featuring one extra-low-dispersion (ED) element, ultra-multi-coating, an iris diaphragm with nine rounded aperture blades, and a 77mm filter thread; the Samyang 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC has a close-focus point of 2.6 feet and an angle of view of 18.8 degrees (11.7° on APS-C, 9.4° on Micro Four Thirds). The new lens can be preordered now for $549. Almost 30% shorter and 1.5 lbs. lighter than its predecessor, the new 300mm f/4E PF boasts Phase Fresnel optical technology to help correct chromatic aberration and reduce the overall size and weight of the lens. The Nikon AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4E PF ED VR features electromagnetic aperture control - hence the E designation in the product name - a VR Sport mode, VR tripod detection as well as a Silent Wave Motor for quiet AF operation, ED glass for further controlling chromatic aberrations and Nano Crystal Coat for superior image quality. The lens takes standard 52mm filters and has a minimum focus distance of 1.1m. The AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR II will be available from 5th February, priced at £279.99 / $349.95.
The Fujifilm XF 16-55mm F2.8 R LM WR is a weather-resistant zoom lens with a constant aperture of F2.8 across the focal lengths equivalent to 24mm at wide-angle through to 84mm at medium-telephoto.

Lensbaby has released new versions of its 5.8mm Circular Fisheye lens. The company now offers the product in Sony A and E, Micro Four Thirds, Samsung NX, Pentax K, Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. This all-manual lens has built-in aperture control ranging from f/3.5-22 and can focus from 1/4" in front of the lens to infinity. Sony has announced a new version of its A-mount 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G SSM lens. The new Sony G 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 SSM II (SAL70300G2) promises approximately four times faster dynamic subject tracking performance, and boasts Nano Anti Reflex coating to eliminate flare and ghosts. The lens also features a dust & drip-proof construction and a close-focus point of 1.2m with a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:4. The optical formula comprises 16 elements in 11 groups, and a 9-bladed aperture diaphragm. The Sony G 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 SSM II lens will be available in February 2015, priced at 142,000 yen (£765) in Japan.

Canon China has posted six high-resolution sample images taken with the new Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens. This super-telephoto zoom lens from Canon boasts a completely redesigned optical formula containing one Fluorite and one Super UD lens element - a combination unique to lenses in this focal range - to help deliver sharp images with high resolution and contrast. For photographers who want to work as closely as possible to their subjects, the minimum focusing distance of the lens has been reduced to just 3.2 ft. (0.98m), resulting in a maximum magnification of 0.31x. The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM Super-Telephoto Zoom Lens is scheduled to be available in December 2014 for an estimated retail price of £1,999.99 / €2,499.99 / $2,199.99.
