Apple has released a new Digital Camera Raw compatibility update. Version 5.02 adds support for the following cameras: Nikon D5300, Nikon Df, Olympus OM-D E-M1 (pictured), Sony Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R.

Fuji has issued a firmware update for the Fujifilm X-Pro1 compact system camera. Version 3.10, which was announced last month, brings a number of improvements and enhancements, including improved accuracy and coverage of the bright frame in the optical viewfinder, a new file name editing function, more consistent file numbering for photos taken in continuous shooting mode, and improved in-camera raw conversion. Additionally, you will be able to see the exposure setting in live-view, adjust the aperture / shutter speed while maintaining the exposure value while AE lock is selected, and set the default and maximum sensitivity and minimum shutter speed when selecting AUTO in the ISO setting. This new firmware update for the Fujifilm X-Pro1 can now be downloaded from the website below.
Announced in November, the new firmware updates for the Fujifilm X100S, X-E1 (pictured) and X-E2 are now available for download. The updates add new functionality allowing you to edit image filenames and improvements to in-camera raw file conversion, In addition, the X-E1 and X100S will benefit from a number of enhancements already incorporated into the X-E2, such as the ability to see the exposure setting in Live View, the cpability to change the aperture and shutter speed while maintaining exposure (EV value) with the AE lock button, and more consistent file numbering for photos taken in continuous shooting mode. In the X-E1, the maximum sensitivity and minimum shutter speed can now be set when ISO AUTO is selected. Ricoh has posted a firmware update for the Pentax K-3 digital SLR camera. According to the company, version 1.01 incorporates the following improvements:
- Faster HDR exposure blending

The folks over at Custom SLR have just built the World’s Largest Camera Tripod Christmas Tree. The 17.4-feet structure, which is made up of 40 Fotopro camera tripods, took 14 hours to build and is decorated with 486 feet of garland lights and 300 ornaments. "We’re donating all the decorations to the Salvation Army and all the tripods to afterschool and nonprofit photography programmes," says Custom SLR's Long Nguyen. Interealtime have launched Light Boost, an iOS app promising "brighter, clearer photos and videos in low light." There are three low-light exposure modes on offer. Light Mode, which "instantly boosts brightness while preserving image clarity," Night Mode, which enables long exposure times and Grain Reduction Mode, which uses a noise filtering algorithm to produce cleaner images. Other key features include live shutter speed and sensitivity display and separate locking of exposure, focus and white balance.Light Boost is currently available at a 50% discount on the iTunes App Store.
DxO Labs have launched version 9.1.1 of DxO Optics Pro. This update adds support for the Nikon Df (Elite Edition), the Sony Alpha 7 (Elite Edition), as well as for the Sony DSC-RX10 and A3000, the Pentax K-3, and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LF1. Additionally, DxO Optics Pro v9.1.1 benefits from the addition of 580 new DxO Optics Modules. This years theme was "Ordinary Life" and the jury thought Filipe's image captured it best. Launched today on Kickstarter, Tooga Gear is billed as the first truly modular camera gear that allows you to capture video footage in a small form factor without compromise.
