My love for photography took off almost 40 years ago, when I taught photography lab at the University of Northern Iowa, as a student. Of course, back then it was chemicals and burning and dodging. And my love for monochrome photography is still very alive. While not a professional (and I kick myself for not going down that road), many hours of every day are devoted to my photography and helping others with theirs.

I've always believed that people sell themselves short, and have no idea what amazing capabilities they have. Today, people have amazingly easy avenues to share their photographs like never before. But there are the photos of the friends at the bar, and then there are the expressive artistic ones. They all have their importance, but they also have their place (photo sharing versus microstock).

There are some images that you have that someone will be would like to put in their report, or book, or magazine, and be willing to pay something for. Go for it. Get them out there. And if you have photos rejected by an online site, don't worry about it - try another site, and try again. Every online site has a different character.
