well file renaming is an easy feature and can be done so very easily without the need of a software. I would like to know what extra features does this software provide. I have a serious issue of file renaming which is troubling me a lot these days. some kind of an automatic file renamer would be absolutely great. Other than that renaming files based on the dates and other attributes as well could also be a handy feature for me. looking forward for more info on this software.

I use ANT renamer. Freeware. Has a really useful feature for a photographer - It can rename using EXIF data. Assuming that the EXIF data is okay. Just make sure the preview column is visible.

My first thought upon hearing about a file renamer software is that why would you need such program when you can do it manually. Then, I learned that you can use it on multiple files at once. Well, that's one good reason.
