Hi all,

I do not currently have a dedicated photo printer but am thinking about the HP 8750. I do own an HP all-in-one, the Photosmart 2710 which takes the same cartridges as the 8750. Can I assume that the print quality using the same cartridges and settings will be identical on both printers for the same photo and settings? If so, is the only thing I'm gaining with the 8750 large format (up to 13" x 19")?

I've also considered the Canon 9900 (seems a bit long in the tooth) and the Epson R1800 (I vowed never again Epson after the constant nozzle clogs and cleanings of prior printers). I really like the black and white quality of the 2710. As an aside, can anyone tell me the difference between the new 102 cartridge and the 100 (specs seem to be the same).

Thanks for your input!

I only saw your post only today--it's almost a month ago. But I own an HP 2710 and an HP 8450--a 8.5x11 version of the 8750.

I can assure you that the HP 8450/8750 machines will produce prints superior to that from the HP 2710. With my 2710 I can't tell the difference between a 6 color print (CcMmYB) from a four color print (CYMB).

I bought the 8450 to do B&W--at which it is excellent. I use a Canon i9900 for color. The HP 8450 color is as good as that from the Canon. I'm sure the 8750 is even better. It has a wider gamut.

I find the Canon's greatest attribute is the conistent quality of its output with all brands of papers. But, It's B&W can't match the HP 8450.

The only non-HP papers I have found that offer profiles for the HP 8450/8750 printers are Ilfords.

Hope this helps
