Having only owned the D700 for less than a week it was time to put it to the test at a Wedding at Gisborough Hall in North Yorkshire, England.

For the past year of so I have been using a D90 with a 17-55mm DX lens. Never had any problem and taken 1000’s of excellent photo’s. This lens would be on for 80-90% of the time at a typical wedding.

To go with my new D700 I had purchased a 24-70mm FX lens. This lens worked great with my D700. I was very very happy with the camera during the day and the 24-70mm is definitely a step up from the 17-55mm lens.

In the past I have had poor results with the D90 at high ISO, so much so that I would never change and just leave it at 200. The D700 on the other hand was regularly up to ISO 1600 with great results.
There are so many positives about this camera and lens pairing I would be on all day trying to list, but here are just a few:-

• Excellent quality images
• Great colour reproduction
• High ISO capabilities
• Great ergonomics
• Brilliant LCD display
• Quick accurate focusing
• The list goes on and on and on…

I had put off buying a D700 with an upgrade looming. Then I started to think it may not be available until late summer and with 20+ weddings in the next 6 months I decided to buy D700 now!!! I am so pleased I did and regret not buying earlier. I can honestly say I will not be rushing out to buy D700 replacement, this camera rocks.
