Was thinking about buying my dad a digital camera for Christmas. Was looking at these 2. Anyone got any thoughts or any other recommendations?

Hi there; it would be the S8200 for me, it's one of the best super-zoom compacts out there in my opinion. You might want to check out the Canon SX220HS, as that has manual controls, and I've found it to be a very decent camera to use. If you have any other queries, feel free to ask.
