I have several Canon lenses that I used with my Canon A-1 film camera.I want to go to a digital slr but want to be able to use my available lenses. Will they be compatible with say a eos 60d camera from Canon, or will they be of no use.

I think you need an adapter to use FD lenses on the 60D, here is a link to someone wanting to know the same thing.
