Has anyone tried the Tomron 28-75 2.8 xr Di. I just got mine for $309. The lens is compact, sharp, and fast. Works great with the canon 300d. Contrast is outstanding. This lens is even sharp wide open. Two thumbs up.........Frank

I bought it from ebay about two months ago - also use an EOS 300D... not really impressed with it, its not Canon 'L' quality anyway... my mates got a copy which is better than mine so I know its capable of a lot more.

I phoned up the UK Tamron distributor yesterday and explained I think it needs looking at, the guy told me that they can be tweaked for performance, i.e. you can set the lens to perform better with a 300D or 20D. So i'm posting it off, looking at 50 to have the thing 'optimized' and serviced, as its second hand.

Hoping that when it comes back it will be as good as everyone elses.
