someone has told me that each time you save a jpeg it deteriorates. This doesnt seem true to me, is it?? I realise quality goes down initially due to file compression, but thought it was just that. Do you know??? sad.gif

The information you were given is correct. Every time you resave the photo (not open and close it, but resave it) you will loose some image quality. Ideally only save it as a JPEG once, having said that if you resave a JPEG a couple of times and are just viewing it on a monitor you may be hard pressed to see the deterioration that has taken place.
