Anyone know of a site selling Photoshop at a good price
All I've come across seem very expensive....
Should I ( a beginner) start with Elements instead of Photoshop ?
Thanks for your help.

Do you by chance qualify for an Academic version or know someone who does? For instance, any child or parent of a child in grades K-12 qualify. Also college students, teachers, professors, etc. If so, this takes the cost down by less than half. Just google Academic Software and a few sites come up. I am thinking of purchasing Adobe Lightroom on academicsuperstore.com - they have it for less than $100! Photoshop runs around $290 on that site. I have the academic version of Photoshop and it is equivalent of a the original program so you don't lose out on any features.
Photoshop is a beast though.....it is awesome and can do tremendous things.....however, is difficult to learn. I am curious to see how the Lightroom works out as I am starting to think that as a photographer I don't really need all the bells and whistles of photoshop. I am somewhat of a purist though and really only use it to tweak my photos. I also shoot in raw and use the Camera Raw plug in quite extensively to ensure correct exposure, white balance, etc.
Good Luck,

And Lightroom is still a free download (although not for very long - end Feb).

Hey Mark,
Quick question regarding Lightroom. I did download (free download yeah!) and I noticed that you can't save items you have worked on. However, I did figure out that you can export it and then open it in photoshop and save it. Are you experiencing the same thing?
