Hi everyone. I need some advice on lenses. I have a Canon 350d. I shoot portraits and weddings mainly. I have survived so far with the 18-55mm and 70-300mm but feel its time to move on and try some new things. I'm still amature so have a small budget. What do you sugest for my needs??

Hi,
Welcome to PhotographyBLOG!
Those lenses pretty much cover a very wide focal range.
So do you want to replace your current lenses, and if so, why?
Or are you looking for something different e.g. a macro of prime lens?

No I don't want to replace them but I was wondering what other people use for these situations. I have heard that the 50mm lens is good. Anyone know why?

Because it's cheap, fast, delivers excellent image quality and is the equivalent of an 80mm lens on your camera, a great portrait focal length.
