Does anyone know of some good, decent priced photography courses that are preferably online, or any good books that I could read to get a better understanding of all of the components of exposure and focusing and aperture, etc? Thanks!

The books can be purchased from Amazon.com (links are provided on the website). There are assignments at the end of each chapter that can be uploaded to the website. The registration is free and the authors of the books check and comment on your uploaded photos.
Also, there is a blog by a lady named Saanga at http://photospot2004.blogspot.com/ with some excellent explanations of aperture and exposure. She no longer updates, but the information presented is very easy to understand and very thorough.

For hands on workshops, take a look at www.goingdigital.co.uk. They run workshops all round the country.
