I have a second hand sony A100 with a 18-70mm macro lens, and I'm happily experimenting with what I can do. I'm really impressed by the fact i can get good pictures of teh children without sticking the camera up their noses! we also have a Canon Ixus 70, which is a wonderful compact camera (I love it, it's brilliant) which is perfect for keeping in a pocket for capturing a great moment. I'm hoping to turn semi pro at some point, so all ideas and constructive criticism is very very welcome!

Sounds like you've hit the colour substitute mode. It means that red (or whatever colour is selected) will be displayed as another colour. Colours are usually selected by pointing and pressing. I don't know the d200 but switching back to manual should certainly solve the problem. There should also be a menu (sorry, I can't tell you where as I don't know the specific camera - refer to your book to locate it) that handles colour management. The netting could be to do with light metering (which will have a menu too). If none of that works, and no-one else here has any other ideas, then get in touch with the manufacturer's support people, and they should be able to help. Good luck!

I assume the problem was due to moisture or something like that, because yesterday it was raining the whole day. At the night I left the camera with battery removed. In the morning I picked it up and first two images did not have the netting , but, red colour missing. Later after third image till 100 shots the colours are perfect as earlier and no netting????? . Thanks for the reply
