Is anyone using the new generation of flatbed scanners from Epson/Canon,etc for Medium Format? If so, are they any good?
I need to scan 2 & a quarter sq. negs, but can't afford a pro scanner. Many Thanks, John.

I don't shoot medium format and use a dedicated film scanner for 35mm slides and negatives. A dedicated film scanner for medium format costs 1,000s of pounds, so I can see why you're interested in the flatbed alternative.
From all of the reviews that I've read, they do seem to be up to the job for medium-format, but not so good for 35mm. I guess the best idea would be to buy one and try it out - if you're in the UK there is a 7-day cooling off period after purchase, so you could always return it if it didn't meet your requirements.
