A friend of mine is having trouble with his CDR:
I wonder if you can help with a problem I am having, I am using 650 mb cdr's to store data and images on and although I have only used 81mb on the current disc, when I try to copy more info to the disc it tells me that the disc is full. Have you any ideas why it says this?, it has got me baffled.
When I check the disc properties it just says: total disc size 81mb used space 81mb.
Regards, John.

You can only write data to a CD-R once - if you want to add data more than once to a CD, you need to use a CD-RW disc, which are slightly more expensive.

what mark said is true but even in a cd-r you can store 80/40/100/what_ever mb and later add more mb... this is call a 'multisession disc' and allows you to add files later to a cd-r (check your recording program) - in this mode and when no more space is available in the cd-r you must finish the cd-r (without finishing a cd-r you may not be capable to read your cd-r in another computher other then yours or where it was recorded!)
hope this helps!
