I have some old paper photographs that I want to use in a web-site?

My scanner doesn't seem to be good enough.

What is the best way to achieve digital pictures from paper pictures?

I live in Norway and, as you see from the question, am techno-dumb.

Any flat bed scanner will work. Look for dynamic range (color depth) before buying one. Also you do have to mess with some sort of image software like adobe photoshop to restore old images. Hope this helps.

thanks

I agree any decent flatbed scanner will work. You do give up some quality with new photos but old photos are lower resolution so the scanner does a good job reproducing them. Once you have them scanned make some adjustments in Photoshop and then have soem fun taking out the wrinkles and spots.

If you haven't got a scanner, you could try photographing them. Mount your camera on a tripod or make sure that it will not move. Dont use flash. Place the pictures with their backs to any light to reduce chance of shine and make sure the white balance is appropriate. Good luck.
