Not really a review, more just a thumbs up to the totally free photo editting software package Gimp 2.
For my photo editting I amateurly use Adobe Photoshop and fully appreciate why it is almost universally regarded as the best photo software.
But, it is does cost a fair wad.

Gimp 2 is a freely distributed GNU public license program.
It is really, really powerful.
Not sure if it is ok to post a link, so I won't. Google will find it easy enough.
The tutorials at the Gimp website are a little bit tricky to follow, written by people who knew what they meant and not for people who have never used Gimp before, but if you complete tutorials like the Quickmask tutorial then you will quickly realise the potential of Gimp.
