yuo´re right of course. It is tempting and nothing wrong with that. Just thought on these pages we should show some work, not just snaps cool.gif

I do agree with this- But hey, were photographers! If we see something beautiful, we snap it- its a bit of a disease isn't it!

You are absolutely right, of course, more freedom, less rules. I was just fed up with sunsets in which the real art was made by The Creator/Nature and not by the photographer.
I will withdraw my suggestion - I meant we, the autors should put the ban on ourselves, not the Site - and try to find some of my own sunsets to send in laugh.gif

I've done a few sunsets/rises in my time, and find the challenge is to create a new way of seeing one. There are enough in the world already, and it's a really easy thing to create just another cliche. However, why draw a moretorium against them and not say anything about flower shots? Babies? Birds? See, there are many, many saturation-photographed subjects.

A daily philosophy of mine: more choice is better than less choice. So let the sunsets be, and only choose to look at other images if that's what you want, but don't try to eliminate them from the world.

I am unclear as to whether you suggest sending only one picture of an event ever, or within a specific range of time.

Chris

I am suggesting if e.g. you have been to a regatta on Sunday, send the best pic of that regatta, and when you go racing on Saturday send the top photo of Frankie Dettori´s flying dismount.
I am not saying that you can´t next month send the photo where he crosses the line in a photofinish.
I just think it is a sort of lazynes and disrespect if you send five rather similar photos of a galloping horse and expect us to comment which we like best. Disrepectful foremost to your own work but also a bit to us, for who will bother to comment on five similar photos? ( I don´t) Maybe I would comment on one : "Like this best", but that is all.
Do I make sense now, Chris?
Best to you

I like the idea very much, Desertpea. In fact I am tempted to do it right now, but I guess it wouldn't be right to flood people off the front page with all the additional exposures. (She stated with tongue in cheek). Although, I think it would be far more useful to have a section for that (before & after) than it is having a section where you can identify who looked at your profile and who listed you as a friend. But hey, that's me. cool.gif

A very good idea indeed if it can be done technically. And as suggested it should be an extra option and we should be good at deleting old pictures after a certain time or it should be done automatically or one might rightly fear overflow in the box.
