I've used Canon Cameras for years, & i think most tripod sockets are either 1.4" or 3/8". If you have a problem with your socket , your camera shop should be able to order a step-up / step-down adapter. The AE-1 cam is a very fine piece of equipment, and remember, it has a ..........
get this: FULL FRAME SENSOR. ( 24MMx36MM ) albeit, on film, but it is what it is. Now you have your lab scan the negatives @ high res. on a disk.

You see, your camera & lenses are all paid for already, & you can deliver a high resolution disk with fantastic potential.

2 ways: 1 - shoot them on a copy stand, w/ a digital camera, then transfer them to a disk. 2 - scan them w/ a flat bed scanner, w/ 300-400 dpi, & transfer them to your computer. Then "adjust them", & then put them on a disk. ( gold for being archival ). /kurtphillip.

The potions which used to rinse photos : Whether you rinse photos or film ,there are :developer, stop and video solution ,fixing solution.

The developer:Its composition is silver bromide, we see the black-and-white photos is actually a reduction from the silver particles

The stop and video solution:The film or photographic paper image before entering the buffer solution, its composition is acetic acid, temporarily fixed image so that the image will not span.

The fixing solution:Solid image firmly in the paper or film, the composition of sodium thiosulfate .

don't forget the "hypo clearing agent" ( kodak), for clearing out the fixer, thus stabilizing the image. / kurtphillip..
