In Topic: What Do You Think Of My Photography Blog?

QUOTE (mmmhmmm @ Jan 7 2010, 10:48 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
ok, maybe true but what if I'm not making any profit from it/ any money at all from it? what's the difference from cutting out pics in magazines and putting them on my wall?

You're breaking the law. Without the copyright owner's permission you CANNOT use the photographs in any way whatsoever. It has nothing to do with money/profit, it has everything to do with illegal use. You haven't even respected the photographers by giving them credit for their work! Art? I don't think so. Theft? Definitely.

See the following regarding copyright - while it is a UK site, the laws apply throughout the US and Canda, Europe, and Australasia.

In Topic: Don't Forget The Birds

I realize that your suggestion is full of good intent, but feeding birds bread/cake/pastry is likely to kill them. They fill up on it and don't have room for food which will give them the nutrition they need. Bacon and its rind are processed foods that shouldn't be fed to them either

Better to follow the advice given here:

Are you shooting in Live View mode? If so, the mirror is always locked up, slowing down the shutter release. If you shoot ordinarily (i.e. through the viewfinder), you won't have the problem.

'In fact, mirror lock-up is required for Live View as the mirror normally blocks the Live View sensor. ' at http://reviews.photo...510-pro-review/

If you have literally 'just' bought it - take it back to the shop and insist they fix it or replace it with one that works. The camera was only released in (I think) October 2008 so it would worry me that something that recent should have to be reconditioned.

If you think you're raising sales numbers for Samsung cameras - you're WRONG! You need to get a life and stop harrassing users here with your tedious photos, anally-retentive posts (or are you on drugs?) and camera details in the gallery. I'm sure you must be getting some kind of kickback somewhere along the line, but there's a Samsung-users hell somewhere waiting for you.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!
