Hi all, here's a pic of a singer friend of mine, hope you like it, but you don't have to wink.gif

I used 3 lights in this set up, a beauty dish to create the rim light, an AB800 for the front, left of frame highlight, and a 580ex with a dome diffuser to fill the right side.

There's a more detailed write up about it, and a set up picture to go with it on my blog if you're interested.

Thanks for taking a look!

That's really a beautiful, and stunning capture. I love the mood that is set, soft, gentle and relaxing with an intimate feeling with the main subject

Hi Mike

welcome to the forums. I am kinda new to. in that I am only now getting more involved in the forums by posting. I'm always happy to help and share what knowledge I have with photography and written a couple of articles on it.
Being New I am unsure if there is a place to post such articles here. If not, I will have my own website up and running soon. So if interested will post url to it. with a loop back to Photoblog.

Hi all look forward to seeing your images, and getting to know you via the forums here

In Topic: Why Do You Photograph?

I was a full on web designer and programmer, until about eight years back I had to under go life saving surgery and more surgeries over teh next few years to "fix me up" unfortunately there were complications which cased memory loss. So all that I was, and did was wiped out. I was pretty lost for some time, then as part of my recovery, I took a photograph, of a compassion rose on my window sill, to this day it remains my most popular floral photograph. What I once viewed as the worst thing to happen in my life I am now beginning to think was the best thing ( though I would never wish the experience I under went on anyone) I finally finding myself and my way back out of this dark period in my life. In Doing so I have discovered Photography is my Bliss, my oxygen, I love Nature Photography it really my thing. I want to go full time professional for the the single reason it would allow me to follow my bliss full time.

Not all of my photographic works could be considered photographic master pieces. That's not my reason for photographing what I do. To me, if one of my photographs brings a smile to another face, a moment of inner bliss, to the viewer, then, to me, that is the single most important piece of work I have created to date. My single aim is to bring some enrichment and joy into other people’s lives through my photography. We all see beauty and fall in love with a subject of an image for our own reasons. That reason doesn't have to be understood or make sense to anyone else other than the viewer, at that moment in time. If I can do that, but once, for one person, through one piece of my work, then my goal and purpose as a photographer, and as a person is fulfilled

This is a nice simple site that is user friendly, and to the point. Nicely done, and your photographic work is lovely especially like the wildlife category

I think its a nice clean site, that's user friendly. It shows what you do nicely. My only suggestion is your opening slide show I would group your images more into categories. That's the say only messy thing about it, as it jumps from product work to portrait work and back to product work again so what would be a nice flow is well not there. Over all thumbs up.
