The Death Of Dslr?

05 December 2012 - 04:33 PM

I wanted to know what people's thoughts were on this year's range of interchangeable lens cameras that have come to market such as Canon's EOS M? Will these new compact cameras with interchangeable lenses be the death of DSLR cameras because of their size or will I still enjoy discussing the benefits of using my Canon 1000D with fellow amateur photographers for years to come? I'm aware its an old model that I have by the way and want the 1D smile.gif

So yeah what are your thoughts on it all?

Canon 1000d Manual Focus

20 November 2012 - 11:53 AM

I'd like to know some more information on my camera which is best answered by Canon DSLR users.

I understand that Canon's AF has 9 focus point areas if I want to focus on one particular area within a frame, however, I'd like to know if it is possible to select specific areas using the manual focus i.e. is it possible to recreate what the auto-focus does using manual focus settings?

Any information you could provide regarding this issue I am having would be greatly appreciated.

Big Hello!

Just thought I'd drop in and say hi as I am new to this forum. My photography experience was for my university nightclub which was great fun so I know a bit about low lighting flash photography and cool effects that can be made with different manual settings.

I hope I can learn a fair amount from other members of this forum and look forward to engaging with you lot!
