In Topic: What Are Advantage Of A Bridge Camera Over A Superzoom Compact?

03 February 2014 - 05:10 PM

I have had a few bridge cameras, Canon, Nikon, and loved the ability to crop within the frame.  Like the previous member, I think the long zoom opens all kinds of possibilities.

The last one I had was 50X and I was looking at the new ones with 60X but I finally decided on the Nikon D5300 with the 18-140 lens and will get a longer telephoto for that type of work.  I wanted clearer photos, so larger sensor and more resolution.  I also wanted faster focusing, and better Frames per second which you don't get with the bridge cameras.

Good Luck

In Topic: Nikon D5200 Vs Canon Rebel T5i(eos 700d) Which Would You Recommend?

Why not go the bit extra and get the D5300?  It has GPS and wireless features and processor is better then the D5200.

I did a lot of research on line and was considering the D5200 with the 18 - 140 lens but got the D5300 with the same lens for a few dollars more so felt it was worth it.

Canon is nice but I find the Nikon to be just a bit more solid in feel.

Good Luck.

London Drugs has a sigma lens 70-300 with a Nikon mount for $159 Canadian.

It could be used for all sorts of things.
