I am very interested in buying this camera, however due ti it's newness there are very few reviews. Was wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to use it or knows of any reviews on the net?

Thanks in advance.

In Topic: Help! Panasonic Dmc Fz50 Or Fujifilm Fuji Finepix S9500

Hey Tod..
I am surprised that you did not give the same chance to Panasonic DMC-FZ50... I am also in the market for similar DigiCam and 80% in favor or Panasonic ... the sample photos of Panasonic on this site are very poor and crapy compared to other review sites like:
www.dpreview.com
www.steves-digicams.com

Surfing through different review sites on the net i found couple of very good USER reviews for FZ50
I think the noise issue is blown out of proportion... maybe would be an issue for serious professionals who would rather opt for a dSLR instead... so why bother .. with correct settings the noise is non-existance.

Following are the points of Fujifilm S9500 that are going against it compared to FZ50 (according to me):
- No optical image stabilisation
- Lower Zoom than Panasonic (300mm compared to 420mm)
- Limited LCD movement than Panasonic
- Panasonic has better design/control/comfort accoding to different user reviews
- Panasonic has 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio Video mode (848x480)
- No Scene modes (Panasonic has 16 scene modes)
- AA batteries

S9500 also have some very good points over FZ50 like:
+ Better Wide (28mm compared to 35mm)
+ Better Macro (1cm compared to 5cm)

What do you expert guys think?

BTW, how are you getting along with your new Cam?
