It depends on what your printing requirements are - I have processed JPEGs and resaved as JPEGs and printed out at 8"x10" with no noticable degredation. If you are repeatedly opening and saving files then I'd suggest saving as TIFF with no compression - this is lossless, so you can open and close as many times as you want.

Not a bad experience to report but a good one - www.warehouseexpress.com. Cheapest prices for the camera + lenses I wanted, and were helpful on the phone when one of the lenses went out of stock. I'd buy from them again.

In Topic: 10d Vs. 20d ?

Only you can answer this one! Does the 20d offer a feature not available on the 10d that you must have to significantly improve your photography? I would guess not. I wouldn't have thought that the 20d was enough of a step change from the 10d to justify the expense. The alternative, if you can afford it, is have both for the convenience of taking two bodies on assignment - one with a wide angle zoom and one with telephoto. Saves lens swapping.

I've got one of these plus the Giottos ball head and I find it very stable and strong - I use it with a 20D and 300mm zoom and get no unwanted movement.
Pros: Three spirit levels, quick release ball clamp, very solid and stable
Cons: Heavy, toolkit snapped off within 20 minutes.

I use an Archos GMini220 - this can hold 20GB of data, has a compact flash slot and also doubles up as an MP3 player. This cost about the same as three 1GB compact flash cards when I bought it.

It is simple to use and very small - half the size of a packet of cigarettes.
