I don't use Photoshop but I know that like several other software products it has tools to repaint the background to a color of your choice. There is a product made by Vertus specifically for background removal called Fluid Mask

In Topic: Applemac Photo Filing Program

QUOTE (Eos @ Nov 12 2008, 06:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
A a new Applemac user I would appreciate if anyone could recommend a good photo filing program ( freeware maybe ) that is easy to use and suitable for handling several thousand images.
As I will ultimately have a large number of images to maintain I would also appreciate any advise or maybe links suggesting an easy and workable system for cataloging and filing a large library of photographs that may also be used for magazines and publications etc.

Your help is appreciated - Rob

Picasa or Windows Live Gallery should do the trick. Both free. Picasa has been around longer and does lots of stuff other than filing...image editing, slide shows, web albums, geotagging, handles both JPEG and RAW images, etc.

Try Gizmo link below. I use Paint Shop Pro as a cheap alternative to Photoshop but PhotoPlus or Photofiltre are free and may be what you're seeking. Good Luck.

It may be overkill but Fluid Mask will do it. They have a tutorial on their web site. http://www.vertustech.com

I'm certainly no expert on the subject but I always thought Exif was just a metadata tag that had no bearing on image quality. I'm surprised at the answer you got from your processing company. I read about Exif in Wikipedia and checked the forum web page at Exif.org and could find nothing that would support the answer you received.
