Full Version: "reflecting" On Boston's Hancock Tower

Hello again. Everyone who knows about Boston has seen or heard of the Hancock Tower. It has gone by different local nicknames, including "King Kong's Mirror". I find the reflections off this work of modern architecture to be more interesting than the building itself. These pictures are part of a new gallery added to my site.

These pictures were shot with a Nikon D80 with an 18-200 Nikkor DX AF/VR lens in the late afternoon. ISO-100 was used throughout. The VR allowed sharp hand-held shots in all cases. I only need a tripod when requiring exposures longer than 1/8 or 1/15 sec. Despite its minor focus, bokeh, pincushion, and LCA flaws, it is very versatile, and even does macro. It's a great lens for its price.

1. Fisheye Reflection off the polished steel overhang at the entrance.

2. The old Hancock Tower, reflected in the new one.

3. Skyline reflected off the Tower windows at street level.

I hope you enjoyed them. Thanks for looking. And if you're interested in the new gallery these pictures can be found in, it's at:

My favorite is the photo number 2, Lynne. I visited your gallery. I like mainly photos of balloons and Boston.
Good job.
