Full Version: Aperture And Shutter Preferred Functions

I recently purchased the 3100 and have been reading the instruction manual, watching the DVD's, and playing with all the settings on the camera. Somehow I've done something that is making the aperture and shutter preferred functions not work and I cannot get them back! Also the flash no longer "pops" up when needed and instead I get a "low light" message. When I look at my settings, it looks as though auto flash is set in the "on" position but I must be missing something. In the "A" preferred mode, I can set the aperture I want but the shutter speed remains the same; likewise for the "S" mode--I can set the shutter speed I want but the aperture setting does not change. I keep scrolling through all the menu options, changing anything that looks promising, but nothing so far has "fixed" this problem. When I set the camera in full Auto mode, all seems to work fine. Help!!

Thanks!

its a technical malfunction, take it to some camera mechanic.
