If I save some photos on a floppy, and get it developed, do you know if I get the photos only? Or will I also get negatives of the photos as we get in an ordinary camera? Thanks. unsure.gif

No, you will not get negatives, just the prints..

Digital images do not go through the film developing stage as there is no film, they are ready to print from the camera or disk.

Normal 35mm or other conventional cameras use celluloid film to capture the picture as a negative image which is then printed to paper, whereas a digital camera captures the image to a memory card in digital data format, and this is printed directly to the paper.

So as you can see the digital memory takes the place of the negative film and so you do not get negatives from digital cameras.

But don't worry, you don't need negatives, as long as you keep the digital image you can reprint just like we used to from the negatives.
