Hi,

I have recently purchased a fuji finepix f700 but cannot view the images on my desktop, a hp pavilion t480.
I am satisfied that
(a) I installed the finepix software correctly
(cool.gif there is no fault with the software or with the camera, cables etc
© I have connected the camera to the pc correctly

When finepix is installed, the images SHOULD open automatically. However, they don't. I have installed the software on another pc, and it works fine, and I am also able to view the images on my TV.
The problem obviously lies somewhere within the PC, but even the experts in hp have so far been unable to solve it!
I wonder has anyone else encountered this problem, or has any ideas as to how I can deal with it. The PC is a new (and expensive!) one, and, by the way, its smartmedia 'slot' will not accept my xcard.

I really would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Martin.

Hi Martin,

During my review of the F700, I bypassed the finepix software and downloaded the images using either a card reader or the USB cable tht is supplied with the camera. Just open Windows Explorer, browse to the camera (which should appear as a new drive) and copy and paste the files onto your PC.

Mark,

Thank you very much for your tip. However, that didn't work either, but I am now using an adaptor which allows the xdcard to slot into the compact flash link and can use the Windows digital camera programme to view the images etc.
Again, thanks a million,

Regards,

Martin.

I had a similar problem with my F700. I discovered that if I uninstalled Realplayer I could upload my photos. I did not have a problem viewing my photos on my computer I just had a problem getting the computer to upload them automatically when I connected the camera to the computer. Also the cradle that came with the camera was useless. I just used the USB cable and uploaded them manually then I got the solution.
I assume that you have solved the problem now that it is 2007 and you posted your problem in 2004. If you are still having the problem try uninstalling programs that you do not need.
All the best.
