Hi, I use a company called Photo Canvas Printing for printing my photos onto canvas. They have always provided me with a very professional service and are cheaper than other sites I have looked at.

My friends recommend http://www.youareart.com but I think they might want to take creative liberties with your work too. Interesting site though!

I was recommended Fo2fuse. This product allows you to print out any photo on to a special film using an Ink-Jet printer and it has a sticky back which sticks to the canvas and using a brush you can actaully see the texture from the canvas through the film. I haven't seen anything like it. Tell me what you think.
http://offers.fo2fuse.com
I was given a code for my first purchase which gives a 10% discount. If you want to use it i would be happy to supply you with it. Let me know and tell me what you think.

I have been buying canvas sheets in A4 size which are pre treated and go through my Epson R300..the image is printed directly onto the canvas and looks superb...I have printed off over 20 images and only one was a problem and that was my fault for not lining up the canvas square..
the site below also looks like a good way to get canvas images, the only downside is the restriction to size..ie A4.

I use a company based in South Wales, who you can buy online securely with. I found them in the Daily Mirror on 21st June, and have been using them ever since. Efficient, friendly, competitively priced. Everything you want...

Further to the comment above about Unit 2 Studios, I have also had experience of dealing with them and have found them to be of great assistance each and every time I deal with them.

I have dealt with a few companies in the past who have printed my photos on canvas, but the guys at Unit 2 always go the extra mile... meaning that I deal with them all the time, not to mention the top quality canvas prints they produce.

Unit 2 Studios come well recommended!

Canvas Printmaker use Giclee canvas media - guaranteed by HP not to fade for at least 100 years. Canvases can be supplied rolled up or stretched depending on your requirements. All stretched canvases are coated with an anti scratch surface and are stapled round the back - not glued like some companies which are prone to peeling off after some years have passed. Similarly, high grade stretchers which have a deep base prevent warping of the frame over a period of time.

I have had canvas and photo prints and been happy with both. They sometimes do a 2 for 1 offer where I did 2 different pictures at 20x16" on canvas for £35 - that's £17.50 ea......

For perspex art and canvas prints you should try htp://www.fourblankwalls.co.uk. They do higher grade canvas prints and reverse mounting onto perspex. The silver backed perspex is really cool!

www.OPUSalbums.com is considering selling a very high quality canvas for A3, A4 printing on intermediate quality printers, (E.g. Epson 1400). Is there a demand for such a product?

Hi, We can help, we supply lots of photographers Trade and the General Public.
We only charge for the price you see plus £10.00 delivery for a wrapped frame canvas. We don’t at the moment advertise in the UK canvas prints rolled, but we do supply them to the trade, our prices for rolled canvas are a further 50% discount off our framed prices, just give us a call for some trade prices 0870 760 5881. I’m sure we can help. We always use the latest in print technology, and the guy who wrote about printers being expensive to run and high cost to maintain was 100% right. In this game you do get what you pay for, but our prices do have to be competitive.
We also manufacture our own stretcher frames so we can make any size to the nearest mm. We are a family run company and have been established for 5 years.

Looking forward to help.

I've tried a few canvas print companies, been doing Canvas Art since Uni...

www.photoartistry.com I have used since 1999- yes 9 years! They've been their since the early days and really know their product well. THey were probably the first company to do an over-laminate on their product (which is amazing- stops marks, cracking- all the usual suspects)...

I have lately now changed to www.imageshed.co.uk because their prices are a better, they now offer hard-backed frames, their products are at least as good as the photoartistry ones and they also do Perspex Art which is my new thing.

Canvas printing has come such a long way- there are so many options- you really do need to know what you are looking for...

allgoodinfo
Hi All. I came across this site whilst doing my normal Sunday morning browsing session before having to take the boys swimming and then onto football ( blink.gif ) and after having to do extensive research in the past for the company I work for My place of work, I feel I am highly placed to post a brief summary of my findings and experiences with some of the Canvas Art companies on the web.

As we are predominantly Property Furnishers, for Developers and Private Individuals alike,in Prestige Developments all over the UK and Europe, we have a huge need for artwork, in various formats, to finish and compliment our Clients Investments.

When I was given the task of sourcing the Artwork, the amount of different companies on the web all offering Canvas Art, Perspex Art, Framed Prints etc, made it seem a little daunting, given that I had to find that happy balance between quality and affordability, I decided the best route to follow was getting samples from a few of them that I liked the look of and then working from those to make my decision. I must point out that whilst I had to find these products, the client had to accept the product before it could be part of the Interiors package we offer them, so it wasn't really my decision, I just got the products, so they could decide.

I got all the samples sent to my home address, so as to limit the possibility of people "Googling" the company and then making an "Extra special effort " on the Artwork, a simple tactic that enables us to separate the good from bad almost immediately after receipt. I have to be honest here, at first glance they all look the same, it is only when the cost is analyised, that the differences between them become apparent.

As a company, we look for a few things before we even consider using a supplier, such as VAT registration, Business address, contactability etc. I know these things won't have as much bearing when looking for a supplier as an individual but are important factors nonetheless.

Outward image. Do they look like they could handle any sizeable orders?. Do they show any evidence that they have dealt with large companies before?. These things are all relevant because it shows that someone has taken "the risk" before and emerged unscathed.

I ordered 10 Canvas samples, 4 Perspex samples and 5 Framed Art print samples. Of the 10 Canvas samples, 5 were dismissed immediately because of the frame, all 5 had " Diy shop " timber frames, not what a client wants in their exclusive development. The remaining five all had a similar make up and build quality, so we decided that print quality, durability and price would determine the 3 we would show our clients. The three companies Canvas prints' we decided on were Canvas Prints and Canvas Prints, the attention to detail on these prints was something else, the reverse of the prints looked as good as the front!. Aswell as Canvas Art, this company was chosen on quality and price, they had the balance down to a tee.

The Perspex companies we chose were Perspex and Perspex, these were chosen because the Perspex was 10mm and one piece and we were assured that because the Perspex was cast, it wouldn't "craze" if cleaned with an aggressive cleaner sometime in the future.

The Framed art prints were quickly decided, Framed art, simply because of the speed of delivery and the Vast range available.

The companies we now use on an on-going basis are Canvas art purely down to the range they keep, the price and the quality. Canvas prints, for when the client wants to pay a little bit more for the attention to detail. Perspex art for ability to cope with large numbers and Perspex art for an extensive range of designs.

I hope you find my little review of some help when making your decision.

Many thanks Sam.
PaulDoddsSweetShop
I would agree with some parts of your review allgoodinfo, but as someone that recently brought from catchincolour I would not say that I was at all happy with the product I received.

My advice to anyone looking to buy canvas or perspex is:

Ask friends for recommendations as the biased reviews and self written views online can be written by people wishing you to use their services without given true honest opinions.

Paul.

Hi

www.point101.com are really good. THe website is easy to use and if you get stuck they actually answer the phone and are really good at what they do. THe quality is excellent and I ordered a canvas and it arrived in two days even though the site says 4-7! and they dont charge for delivery.
