In your case, It's easy to answer: buy a compact flash.

There is a lot of compact flash on the market from a lot of different companies and they even try to make them faster.

If you buy a Xd card, there only made by Fuji or Olympus...

You're fisrt problem should be the size of the card.
You're average image size is 1.6 MBytes.
You will put 80 images on a 128 Mbytes (I thing it is a minimum and they are really affordable).
