I wasn't specifically suggesting that you enter it for PhotographyBLOG competitions (although that would be good!). Maybe it would be worth submitting to some of the UK magazines?

They'll probably want a decent scan, and possibly the slide too

Each magazine has it's own entry rules which you will have to comply with. Practical Photography and Photography Monthly are good places to start.
