Full Version: Which Software Should I Use?

I want to start scanning my collection of 35mm colour slides and bought a PrimeFilm 1800u scanner to do the job, but after the first dozen or so scans decided that I wasn't very happy with the results from the software which came with it. A Microtek brochure seemed to suggest that Silverfast software was better than the software they supplied(!) and my first inclination was to buy that, but then wondered what else might be available that could be better still.

At this stage in what will be a large project I want to make the best possible choice of software, and would appreciate any advice which readers of the forum could give. I am satisfied that my scanner is about the right model for my purposes, my resources are not unlimited and I don't expect I would ever want to print larger than A4.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi!
I'd like to advise you the soft named Vuescan (https://www.hamrick.com/reg); cost about 40 USD, but very good one.

These days there are a plenty of softwares available on the net. Some gives free trial too. You can download the one according to your requirements.
