Hi Guys,

I'd like to apologise in advance for my lack on understanding, im desperatly trying to read up on stuff to have a clue what im talking about!!

I recently got the Canon DS 500 as my first ever SLR! however after buying it and playing with it i understand the bog standard lense it comes with is pretty awful. i really want to get a good all round lense that will provide great pics but there are so many ef lenses to choose from im getting confused. Ideally i don't really want to spend more than £350ish as im only a begginer and the camera only cost £400ish!!

Im mainly using my camera for the normal scenic shots, friends etc. Im also going to a tiger national park in india so was thinking about a zoom lense but they seem pretty pricey!

was just wondering if any of you guys could give me some advice on what sort of lense i should be looking for.

thanks in advance for all your help. smile.gif
