I am the son of a professional photographer in Los Angeles. In the process of developing a site for him, I've created an easy to use web-interface that allows photographers to manage their galleries/portfolios online. The details are listed below. If you are interested, please email me at ( tyler at yourchunk dot com ). This program is not a template driven program. The program will not replace a site design. Basically it was designed to be integrated into existing site designs as a back-end way for photographers to manage their photos. Here are the details:
CWS Gallery
Description: CWS Gallery is a web-based gallery/portfolio management program
developed for professional and amateur photographers. CWS Gallery was
created as an application that can be integrated into existing web site
designs. It is not a "template" program where all sites look similar. The
user-interface is extremely easy to use and allows the user complete control
over the layout of the galleries.
Details:
• Create/Delete/Activate/Inactivate photo galleries
• Galleries can be renamed and ordered however the user desires
• CWS Gallery allows an unlimited number of galleries
• Photos can be uploaded into the galleries individually or through mass
upload (.zip or .tar archive files)
• Thumbnails are created through an easy-to-use interface that allows the
user to crop thumbnails from the original upload (no photo editing
software necessary - web-based application)
• Thumbnails can be arranged horizontally or vertically with the click of
a button
• User has total control over layout (space between thumbnails, size of
thumbnails, border, border color, border size, etc.)
• Photos can be ordered within each gallery however the user desires
• Thumbnails can be recropped at any time
• Password protected galleries can be created for current client projects
• No HTML or other programming experience needed
• Runs on all browsers - Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Safari,
etc.
• CWS Gallery runs on PHP with a MySQL database
Examples:
Two current examples of sites using CWS Gallery are
