i currently have a canon 350d but im looking to upgrade i am going to new york in march and have been contiplating getting a canon 30d
so advise on this upgrade would be good cant really afford anything above that but i am open to suggestions to a camera that is of a similar price bracket

whatever model you get, you must get IS lenses. They are a great deal more money but really neccessary for digital lenses

thanks for your help guys i am going to NY at the end of march so hopefully i can wait one more question for you i am UK based but the camera's are less expensive in the USA so that is why i was going to buy my camera there is there any difference between the canon in the uk and the canon in the USA ????

cameras in the US are built in different locations and come with different spec from their Uk models. Their warranties are also defunct in the UK so watch out; its a problem i've faced b4 even with the "worldwide" bit.

check pages such as http://www.edinburghcameras.co.uk/acatalog...ital_SLR_s.html before thinking about your decision. They usually have bits of info, and the people at independents are way more helpful than your average website, or jessops chaps.
