i joined photography blog last october (i think) having just got a new camera, i didn't know the first thing about photography, or about editing techniques, or being critical about my work. straight away members from the site welcomed me and gave me valuable critique, insight and encouragement on my burgeoning passion.

anyway, the other day i took some photographs to a local park to see if they perhaps wanted one to brighten a dull corner in the visitor centre. and to my astonishment, they asked if they could have all thirteen and are putting them on display. so my first exhibition is up and running (at the end of this week), although it's not really an exhibition, they'll just blu-tac them onto some boards. but needless to say, it's very exciting for me

i just wanted to thank everyone at photographyblog.com for giving me the confidence to take my pictures somewhere, in the hope that they would like them. i would never have been able to do it before.

i look forward to still posting my own pictures and viewing and enjoying everyone else's, and to being a part of our community of friends.

ps - if anyone is in manchester soon, why not visit the visitor centre at fletcher moss gardens?

Well done iorek....when i was a member of our local photographic society, we used to submit pictures, (10x8), to our local hospital for them to hang on the walls. It was very nice to hear all the comments on the photographs from the patients and staff at the hospital, i think the images brightened the place up a bit.....well done once again.
