Is this sort of self-promoting spam allowed?.
£12 for a 16 inch sqare print?..Obviously Gordon Brown doesn't manage to see any of that!!

Cheap canvas printing isn' all it's 'cracked' up to be. I've tried some of the cheaper products and I've had to return some of the worst- things to ask your supplier:
What sort of frames do you use?
Best of the best: Hardbacked frame- this means your canvas won't get dinted, or bent and means there is less chance of it warping.
2nd Best: artists stretcher frame with bevelled edge- you still have a change of it warping, and a chance of dinting, but at least if any small amount of pressure is put on the frame you wont get a line where the canvas meets the frame... (This looks s*** saw this at debenhams on their art on demand prints- shocking.
worst: stretcher frames, no hard-backing, no bevel, made out of something thin, believe me I've seen it
What sort of canvas coating do you use?
Best of the best: Over-laminate applied by heated vacuum press, this means you can throw things at it, clean it, scrub it and it should still clean up great. The other great addition to this method is that you won't get cracked edges just by the very nature of the product!
2nd best: Giclee Varnish coat. You will get some resisance to wear and tear, but don't hold your breath, won't resist against cracking...
3rd best: solvent printer- helps on durability tho you won't get as good a finish on the product.
worst: inkjet printer no coating- might look great (for 5 minutes), inkjet printing on waterproof canvas is a deceptive description, it is only the canvas that is waterproof NOT the inkjet printing. The print may look beautiful, but damage is enevatable..
What printer do you use?
Best: Any of the latest photo large format printers- i.e. EPson HP are probably at the for front for quality. THen Cannon and Kodak.
2nd Best: Solvent printers- very expensive to buy, very little to run, quality acceptable depending on age of machine.
Hope this helps.
My fav. company for canvas- Image Shed, they lowered their prices this year too..

Completly agree. But I have to admit not all of the cheaper products are bad. There is also usually one of the bigger more expencive canvas print retailiers having a sale. Failing that there are discout codes if you can find then. I have never
used ImageShed personally but they seem to be a profecional, corperate type operation. I have had some experience of
canvas prints from photobloc though. I think i'll give the former a trail run with the next batch. Unles you have some other recomendations?

I disagree. If you find a well priced genuine canvas printer the results are great! but I have come across some of the worst prints Ive ever seen aswell.. My experiences have brought me down to using a select few time and time again.

I would recommend that you look around at the different print techniques for canvas printing. I have used dye sublimation printing for my prints from 4canvas products who seem to be very reasonable to the trade. They print on a real canvas fabric in real photographic quality which doesn't damage and has not protection or glossy look which makes it look cheap. The cost for a 20x20 inch canvas works out at £24.00 to the trade and the resell value for this superior product is far greater than inkjet prints which seem to the returned after a week due to scratching.
Take a look at their web site www.4canvas.co.uk it gives lots of information on canvas printing and 4canvas offer help and advice second to none.
I will keep using them for all my clients.

Hi,
I only tried the Giclée printing technique provided by
www.photo-on-canvas.co.uk, and I'm satisfied. I'm producing photos on canvas for home improvement/ interior design. As soon as people like the picture, they immediatly adopt the medium! In canvas printing, I really have the feeling that the photo has more meaning than the printing technique.

i had a good experience with my canvas print production using this company -
cheap canvas printing. They use a thicker gallery wrap framing and it says on their website that they will refund the money if you're unhappy with the print... small company but quality is better than the big ones.

CanvasPop that I had to share it with the rest of you. The quality is up to my high standards. They got some great
photo on canvas reviews. They gave me a free shipping code so let me know if you want it. They have multiple locations around the world including NY and London. Super friendly -I will use them again. Worth a look.
I am looking for someone who can print my photos on persplex who can ship both in EU and North America- please let me know if you have any recommendations.

I think you have to avoid the
cheap canvas printing as this tends to involve a synthetic canvas, not varnish or varnish that is painted on with a monkeys hand.
The best stuff is the Dye sublimation and 4canvas are one company that do it. Another is Four Blank Walls who i believe are the leaders in
canvas prints and acrylic printing. You need to ask for dye sub when you call up. Their prices start at £20.00 for an 18x14" which i think is pretty unbeatable for a quality canvas and around £69.00 for a medium sized 10mm acrylic print. They do trade prices for photographers on acrylics so ask for the trade price. The
acrylic prints worked out about 1 5th of the price of other people like acrylicize and i think were much better.

I had an image on my camera phone of 3 of my dogs that I wanted to blow up and have printed on canvas after 2 of my dogs had passed. I wanted to have them on some type of poster or the image blown up so that I could remember them as they were a part of my life. The only image file that I had was a very low resolution image and many companies turned me down and or were not willing to help because my image file resolution was too low. I requested quotes and emailed multiple canvas printing companies however I was disappointed with my findings. More than finding a cheap mass produced company such as snapfish or canvas on demand or canvaspop, I wanted to go for high quality, permanence ratings, and great customer satisfaction. I stumbled on trubate.com and found a deal through canvasberry.com and decided to give them a try, however I was extremely weary about the outcome. I called in to inquire about my file and if it was even possible to get my image printed without sacrificing the quality of the image. The staff was extremely friendly and told me not to worry and that everything will turn out okay. So I paid, and I was waiting and once the print got to my house, oh my god I was speechless and found tears to my eyes. They completely restored my original file on a huge 40 x 60" floating frame that left me absolutely speechless. I just want to reach out to photographers or the general public that it's possible! I am a CanvasBerry fan and would absolutely love to do business with them again. For all you people who want to print on canvas whether its for professional or personal use I highly recommend CanvasBerry. They definitely did not let me down!
