Full Version: Good Beginner Camera

Greetings all, I know in forums like this questions like mine are usually asked and beaten to death, but I couldn't find much that answered my question. My girlfriend really wants to try some photography, personally I have a little Pentax point and click type digital camera but she wants something a little more 'fancy'. From reading on the site a little bit, my guess is that I want a DSLR camera? Can anyone make any recommendations on a camera (preferably Pentax, a friend of mine works for them and can get cameras cheap) that is good for beginners and if at all possible, comes with everything needed to shoot in one package?

Many thanks, and again, sorry for asking such a 'noob' question.

It sounds like the new Pentax K100D Super would be ideal for you - especially if you can get it cheaper!

I agree about the K100super and just want to add that you can download the manual from the pentax website to learn more about a very good firts DSLR.
