I have long had the desire to learn some skills in photography. Now - in this digital age - I'd like to finally take some action toward that goal. Where do I start? I would appreciate any recommendations on:

• educational web sites
• books
• digital photography classes in the San Francisco Bay Area
• private lessons in the Bay Area
