I am purchasing this camera but a little confused on which lens(s) to purchase.

I take a lot of photos of grandchildren.

I travel the world and take photos of landscapes, cities etc.

My preference is not to look for the cheapest but rather to find a solution for a price that represents good value.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thank you. rolleyes.gif

Hi - I'd recommend the Tamron 18-50 f2.8. I bought one four months ago and have been impressed with the sharpness of my photos. It also displays much less lens flare than the standard 18-55.

Being an f2.8, I've got really nice background blurs when photographing still objects or people. Of course the extra speed of the lens makes it more flexible in low light conditions.

I can't really fault this lens, especially at half the price of the equivalent Canon lens.

Are you looking for zoom or prime?

I've just started using an EF 28mm f/1.8 - early results indicate it's a really nice lens. Might be a bit wide for portraiture though....
