Hello,
Just joined and i see that you have a photo competition.
I have just bought the following items.
Sony A200 complete with standard lens 18-70.
Sigma lens 70-300.
Sandisk compact flash 2 memory card.
58mm Uv filter.

Please can you advise what is required to take a good photo.
It may be a basic or silly question but surely it is not a matter of pointing the camera at an object and pushing the button.
What kind of things do people look for in a photo to make it better than the next photo.

Thanks very much.

I think that the main thing in photographing is idea.
It's like in art, you should put in your picture something, which will touch the heart or mind of person.
And also the quality of course.

Hi,
What you asked is not a silly question; it is the most important thing to keep certain things in mind while taking a photograph of any of the object.
The most important point to keep in mind is the location where you are going to have photograph and the light over there. If these two things are correct than there is no problem in having a photograph. before taking a photograph make sure one thing, that the location is not going to overshadow the object to be photographed and the light should be perfect, not even a single point more or less otherwise it will deteriorate your picture.
So, keep my words and I am sure you will have good enough photographs to win any contest.

Photography is a art, you should put in your picture something, which will touch the heart or mind of person. It is also important to have the best camera.

Hi Metropetro,
I do agree with you. The photograph should be self descriptive and will tell everything about those moments.

i think, first make an image of that photograph in your mind thinking that how would it look after being shot and to make that image you need some good aesthetics.

There are many different type of technique to take good photo.
1.Taking well-exposed pictures on automatic mode.
2.Taking sharp and well-exposed pictures on manual mode.
3.Taking good pictures in low light.

Thank you so much for sharing personal experience! It matters much these days.
