First of all this is a great site and I visit every day.
The only problem I have is how slow it is to load. It is the slowest website I visit by far. You hit the bookmark for the weblog.php the top part usually shows up after a pause and than nothing happens for a long time. Sometimes the page loads after a minute, sometimes after 30 seconds and sometimes I just close the window and move on.
It’s like a worst dialup nightmare and I’m on a broadband connection.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the feedback.
PhotographyBLOG has enjoyed quite a lot of growth recently, now receiving around 11-12,000 unique visitors every day.
Consequently, I think it may have outgrown the capabilities of the server that it is run on.
I'm looking into upgrading the infrastructure right now...

I'm still struggling with 28.8Kbyte modum but don't have any problems with speed at all, but I'm in the southern hemisphere and 'fossicking' while the people upstairs are fast asleep

28.8Kb! Wow! Makes my 2Mbps wireless connection look a bit greedy

Definitely!
You can relax now

The main page loads really fast even with the latency from across the ocean
Keep up a great work and thank you for this great website.

Oh.. BTW
There is a one small thing… You can not get back to the main page from the forum by clicking on the “photography Blog” pic on top. Easy fix, I’m sure

I've just about relaxed after a frantic week of breaking and fixing things!
Now I can get back to adding some content to the site

Good point about the Logo - I will change it asap...

Have noticed the intrusion of ads where photos used to be and am lamenting that the photos in the gallery space now appear to be much smaller due to the large size and number of ads. Hate to see that since photos is supposed to be what made the site popular to begin with.

PhotographyBLOG relies on advertising to keep running - it's as simple as that I'm afraid.
Having said that, I do try and keep a balance between site content and the number of ads, so I'm always open to user feedback :-)
Only 1 new ad has actually been added to the Gallery, along with the column on the left-hand side which shows stats etc about the photos posted and the latest news headlines from the site. The actual photos themselves haven't got any smaller - the size limit is still 600 pixels wide/high (as it has always been).
