I am an amateur photographer that needs help selecting my new camera. For about the same money I can get a year old Canon EOS 5D or a new Canon EOS 50D. Which is the better choice for the money. The main advantage, I think, of the 5D is ruggedness, professional, 1:1 viewing that is no correction factor. The 50D has the new Digic 4 processor, 1.6x correction factor, new features. I will be taking a majority of landscape photos and close ups with 300mm lens or wide angle.
HELP!

The old 5D has only one advantage over the 50D: noise control. Considering that the 50D handles noise quite well, and your ultimate improvement in that area will often be negligible, you really may wish to go with the 50D.
