I am pretty new to photography and have been using an Canon eos elan 7n 35mm camera. I have a 28-105 lens. My problem is that when I use the Polorizing filter (58mm circular) over half of my photos have vignetting problems around the corners. I started to use a lense hood hoping that would help, but to no avail. This is really starting to frustrate me, any suggestions???

Thanks

Are you using the polarizing filter in addition to another filter, like a UV filter? Or are you using it on its own?

Stacking filters may be causing the problem.

Actually I am stacking with a UV. Thanks I'll give it a try!

Let me know how you get on :-)

Hi all, I did a search and couldnt find any other threads on filters, unless i am crap at searching o well, Well I wanted to ask, I have a 70-210 minolta lense, that uses a 55mm lense cap, I have a skylight filter on it, I was wondering what is the difference between a 'circular polarizing filter' and a regular 'polarizing filter'??

Hi Greg,

Take a look at this thread for the difference between circular and linear polarizer filters:
