In my constant pursuit of knowledge, I've come across a very useful tutorial regarding Photoshop's Level adjustment vs Curve adjustment. For anyone using photoshop this is a vital tutorial that will give you better control when you need to adjust shadows, contrast, levels and such.
Here is the overview of the lesson.
"Generally speaking, the Levels command is an excellent tool for bringing out shadowy details in images. For the image featured in this clip, however, Levels won’t do the trick. This looks like a job for Curves! This lesson takes you “point by point” through the Curves dialog box, showing you how to dramatically improve an image by creating the perfect curve while compensating for the loss of saturation."

Enjoy everyone!
